A studio that produces artisan hand-made soap wants to increase sales. |
Insight from co-discovery
The owner has an incredible story of being a cancer-survivor and now operates this studio to fulfill a long-time dream. Leveraging the incredible story, we launched a PR campaign to bring her story into focus.
In addition to soap, the studio was also a distributor of sell aroma therapy oil and candles as well as being a distributor of organic snacks, organic cotton clothing. This is a case of too much good thing is a bad thing. It caused a lack of positioning focus and high inventory cost.
Marketing copy was too functional driven and not enough experience/life-style -focused |

Project Outcome
In 6 months, the studio owner received several TV interviews and a cameo in a local movie production as herself. All resulted in higher sales of soap and aroma therapy line. Letting go of organic snacks and cloth in product portfolio allowed better focus, better inventory control and higher net profit over all. Continuing with the experience-driven marketing, the client also successfully expanded into organic tea and honey in 2011. |
